The Irish Holiday
Irish immigrants were determined to stay upright and not be forced to mold completely. One way they showed that they were still proud of their heritage, was celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Americans, at first, detested the way they shamelessly showed off their culture, but after some time, Americans chose to accept this Irish way of life and celebrated the holiday with them. This was a big turning point in history, for they were now not only tolerating but enjoying the Irish enough to be "Irish for a day".
